Giveaway – Cultivate and Story Chicago passes

I have a pass to both Cultivate and Story Chicago (October 27-29), and my wife has decided that she should stay home. As a result, I’m also looking for a roommate who might be interested in splitting a hotel room for three nights (October 26-28), which will hopefully save you over $100 as well!

You may enter for the giveaway without the roommate deal, but combining them all would make it easier. I already have a room booked for Cultivate!

To enter for the giveaway, please leave a comment answering the simple question below. I will draw a random winner tomorrow (Tuesday, October 13th) at 12:00pm EST via a Twitter / Facebook status update.

What are you most passionate about when it comes to creativity / technology?

  1. I’m not sure what his answer would be to the question…I’d say that God is glorified through the creativity and technology used! That is one of the reasons we LOVE your ministry~

  2. I think, for me, it’s the idea that I’ve been given so much technology to use and the know-how to use it — and to think about how it can be used to further the Kingdom the way we further things via Facebook or Twitter — with the speed and fierceness???

    That is some exciting stuff!

  3. Mark burleson

My passion is helping others find ways to utelize technology to reach people with the Gospel and helping them grow.

  4. Joni Bishop

What I’m most passionate about in regards to creativity and media is being able help smaller churches and ministries who don’t necessarily have tons of money be able to clearly and effectively spread the Gospel with great design with a smaller price tag.

  5. I was a traditional board artist and illustrator for 15 years when I jumped eagerly into the infant digital technology. My peers were grimacing & wringing their hands for fear these computers and digital cameras would put them out of work. I was a work-at-home-mom trying needing to grow my business as my family grew from 3 children to 5 to 8 children and my husband slowly melted down and ultimately abandoned us.
What I am most passionate about is that God put it all in my hands IN HIS TIMING but at exactly the RIGHT TIMING for me to move smoothly away from time, labor and handwork intensive board work to technology which allowed me to express my creativity and support my family adequately and do it all with energy left over for my kids who mattered more than any of it.
There’s so much more but I’ll save that for my book… 🙂
    God bless!

  6. To Implement technology into ministry in a way that relates the upcoming generation and encourages ministry participation in the younger generations. Utilizing these advances for glorifying God and spreading the name of Christ, reach the world in ways that has never been possible prior to our current day.

  7. God’s wisdom has been given to man to create tools. From the hammer to the podcast, these are all Kingdom neutral. A hammer can build a strip club…a hammer can build a church in Haiti. The Internet can bring a casino into your living room…and it can also connect a Marine in Afghanistan to his Christian brothers and sisters in Takoma.

I carry a burden, almost equal to my burden for lost souls, that the church would embrace and employ the same tools and technology (that the world uses to create wealth and spread corruption) to creatively communicate the most glorious message in History…His Story!

  8. David Erlandson

I feel really strongly about creativity in the church. I believe that God has given us enormous creative potential in arts, sciences, politics, and in human relationships (among other things). He has given us this potential so that we wouldn’t use it for our own good, but ultimately for His glory and honor. As a person who works with church arts, I feel particularly close to art and technology in the church. First, I do not believe there should be a limit on where we can go – constantly using our creative capacity to create and discover new ways to communicate the gospel and edify the family of believers. Second, I believe that technology provides for us the tools to get to places tomorrow that we cannot possibly imagine today.
I’m so excited to see what God’s going to do with His church!

  9. generated a #3 this time, so congrats to Mark Burleson on winning the free tickets! I’ll be giving other things away in the near future, so be on the lookout!
