Sometimes I’m sure all of us feel pulled apart to make decisions based on what the world wants or what God would choose. I know there have been many times when I have been tempted to take the low road and just let things slip by, allowing the world to mold me into something different than I have really been made to be. The situation Joseph was in was much more difficult than any I’ve had to go through.
His wife was giving birth to the Savior of the world, but the process wouldn’t appear supernatural to them – it looked like they had gone against the law with news that she was pregnant. The “religious” of the day were going to be angry with him, but if they knew the truth they would have admired his decision. He took the high road, allowing those people to realize the truth after the birth took place. That’s a prayer that I know I need to pray more often. Allow the world to realize God in my life whenever it works out best. It might not be on my terms. I might have to go through a time of being looked at like I did something wrong, but in the end the truth always shows itself. God seems to let Himself be known when the time is right. Joseph was a great example of patience and humility at this moment, that’s for sure.
