A $4 million answer

You can take some time to read into the project here or here, but the John Templeton Foundation is giving the Ian Ramsey Centre (Univ. of Oxford) $4 million for a three year project (starting back in October of 2007) to study why “Mankind naturally embraces God”. Or as the centre’s director puts it, “One implication that comes from this is that religion is the default position, and atheism is perhaps more in need of explanation”.

Within a few seconds a verse came to mind, but maybe one of you could pass it on to them and save them 3 years of hard work…….and a couple of bucks too while you’re at it?

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” Ecclesiastes 3:11 NIV

I sometimes am baffled this country is in so much debt. Maybe it’s because the majority of us running away from God? No wonder He stitched a natural desire for a relationship with Him into our soul. I really doubt He enjoys watching us waste years of our lives……or seeing us drown in debt either.

I’ll continue to scratch my head when I hear individuals who we often think to be our “most intelligent thinkers……or those with Ivy league status”getting into these discussions. I actually believe stuff like this could be avoided if more of us took a stronger stance for the truths God’s given us. Maybe they just haven’t heard?

  1. God created us with a natural void that was to be filled by Him…Unfortunately, many try to fill it with everything but God and in the process create confusion for themselves and others.
